WHAT IS GREY WATER? Grey water is your waste water from bath / shower, bathroom sink and washing machine, water you have already paid for and can be recycled into your garden. Grey water does not include water from toilets, kitchen sinks and dishwashers. Back to top HOW MUCH WATER DO I WASTE? An average family of 4 will use between 350-450 litres a day, this water is "money down the drain". Back to top WATER USAGE FOR A TYPICAL DAY Get up and have 10 minute shower = 70 litres Brush teeth for 3 minutes with tap running = 18 litres Do full load of washing = 50 litres Have bath = 80 litres Brush teeth again = 18 litres Total water used = 236 litres or over 53 gallons That's 236 litres (59 watering cans) of water which can be reused to water your garden with our ReClaim system. Grey water can be safely used in your garden, it contains Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorous, we do however recommend you have our filter system installed this will filter out large items such as broken soap, hair and other articles that could block the "business" end of the system.
